“Doxxing” is the latest word to hit the American lexicon. Slang for “documenting,” doxxing when used in the context of the internet is when someone’s private information is made very public.
Depending on whatever jurisdiction criminal doxxing may take place, the act in and of itself, is usually illegal.
But in this day and age of the likes of James Thomas Hodgkinson, an admitted “Bernie Bro,” who essentially went hunting for Republicans to assassinate last year (wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-LA, as well as Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner; Zack Barth, a congressional aide; and Matt Mika, a Tyson Foods lobbyist), as well as Barack Obama urging his supporters to “get in the face” of those who disagree with the Leftist agenda, doxxing can be down-right dangerous.
Case in point would be Democratic congressional staffer Jackson Cosko, 27, just being arrested by Capitol Police on multiple charges, all boiling down to one word – doxxing.
As reported by TownHall.com, “Cosko most recently worked for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) but has also been a staffer with Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA)…”
Also cited by TownHall.com reporter Beth Baumann;
Jackson Cosko, 27, was charged with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communication, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second-degree burglary and unlawful entry, although additional charges could be added.
The charges come after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home addresses in Kentucky and Washington, D.C. were added to his public Wikipedia page.
Last week, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Mike Lee (R-UT) had their home addresses, home phone numbers, cell phone numbers and email addresses added to their public Wikipedia pages. The postings came as the Senate Judiciary Committee questioned Kavanaugh over Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual assault allegations. All three Republican appear to believe Kavanaugh to be innocent.
In the meantime, the left-leaning Politico.com is reporting, “Cosko has been working as an intern in the office of Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas and has been fired, according to her chief of staff Glenn Rushing.”
