With unemployment on the Emerald Isle headed towards the stratosphere, the Irish Ministry for Social Protection has mailed out thousands of notices to those still on Government Punt should literally seek employment elsewhere, as reported by The Independent (of London, England) and the Indian-Muslim centered news portal Two Circles both on Dec. 13, 2013.
With joblessness actually improving to a still unbelievably high 12.5 percent, the central government has sent 6,000 notifications to those drawing welfare payments that they should consider finding a job overseas.
Walking on Sunshine…
With one in four Irishmen and women under the age of 25 currently sans meaningful employment, Dublin is sweetening the pot by making it clear in their correspondence to the notoriously melanin-challenged Irish that even though pay in certain European countries is considered poor, there does come the intangible of living in a “Mediterranean” climate.
Defending itself by stating no one is required to take employment abroad, the central government is essentially advertising specific positions such as an opening for an electrician in Coventry, England, while “another jobseeker was offered work as a bus driver in Malta.”
