Apparently not quite correctly understanding the true definition of the word, a noted host on the hard left-leaning MSNBC declared on the air that any discussion of impeaching Barack Obama was tantamount to treason. As reported by the National Review Online on July 10, 2014, and the Media Research Center on July 9, 2014, part-time host on the Lean Forward network Michael Eric Dyson made sure there was little doubt that he considered Sarah Palin’s call for the Constitutional impeachment of the Chief Executive as an act of treason against the United States.
However, the full-time professor of sociology at Georgetown University has quite a personal history when it comes to calling for the impeachment of a US president. As Dyson made quite public in 2006, he joined the likes of Ed Asner, convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, Jane Fonda, Democrats.com, Susan Sarandon, Queers for Economic Justice, and Sean Penn in signing The World Can’t Wait! petition calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush.
As a signator to the document, Dyson joined in the accusation that Bush was leading the United States on the path of becoming a fundamentalist Christian theocracy that promised to be “narrow and hateful.” The Georgetown educator and the rest of the signers alluded that the Bush “regime” sought to “radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way…” in a style reminiscent of Adolf Hitler.
Not quite the first time his version of journalism were aired while he took to MSNBC’s anchor desk, He added fuel to 2013 Duck Dynasty fire by stating that the reality show was responsible for white people hating people of other races, even without said white people realizing it. Specifically, Dyson stated on the “NOW w/Alex Wagner” show: (click here for video)
Phil Robertson and the ‘Duck Dynasty’ is part of a majority white supremacist culture that either consciously or unconsciously incubates hatred toward those who are different.
His appearance on Wagner’s show wasn’t his first. Appearing on the MSNBC panel show after Barack Obama’s dismal performance in an early October 2012 presidential debate, Dyson claimed Fox News was responsible:
Obama has just been subject to the Fox News treatment of Angry Black Man, again.
Cut short from the Youtube.com video was the entirety of Sarah Palin’s comments advocating Barack Obama’s impeachment. As cited by MRC.com (cited above) the totality of her words were:
The tipping point in this drive towards impeachment for me has been the illegal immigration issue, the crisis created by Obama. [Cut to a different clip.] Impeachment is a message that has to be sent to our President that we’re not going to put up with lawlessness. [Cut to a different clip.] And it also means lying to the American people and it means fraud. [Cut to a different clip.] I really want Congress to do its job, the constitutional power that they have to halt an imperial presidency.
