“Satan fell by force of gravity, by taking himself too gravely” – GK Chesterton
It’s never a pretty thing then the scales fall from the eyes of sycophants.
The wailing, the crying, the gnashing of teeth… all very unpleasant. Very Old Testamenty.
So reality is finally dawning on the Obama Lapdog Media that many of Mr. Soetoro’s promises are as empty as beer bottles after a Marine’s wetting down party while crossing the equator on a payday Friday.
That’s a lot of empty beer bottles.
But I Digress…
Case in point would be Politico’s epiphanous moment of October 2012 when they published their “10 quotes that haunt President Obama” article.
In all fairness, the non-partisan Independent Journal Review recently cited a number of whoppers not only from HRH Barry I, but also from Michelle “Let Them East Rice Cakes” Antoinette.
Lastly, a prime example of I-hate-to-say-I-told-you-so…but-I-told-you-so, Fox News reported on Nov. 19, 2013 of an honestly sad case of a hard core Obama supporter who found that due to Obama’s signature legislation, both she and her ADHD son are out of the frying pan, but now in the fire.
If the word of a gazillionair means anything, Rupert Murdoch was quoted by ABC News back in 2010 stating that the mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg once told him of Barack Obama, “I never met in my life such an arrogant man.”
“Now, that is not untypical for a lot of folks like Jessica who have been struggling without health insurance. That is what the Affordable Care Act is all about.” — Obama during an Oct.21 speech referring to Jessica Sanford who just found out she qualified for a $452 discount – and an insurance plan for just $169 a month. Last week Sanford received notification her income is too high to qualify for subsidies.
“Guantanamo will be closed no later than one year from now.” — After signing an executive order on his third day in office, January 2009.
“It’s here that companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.” — May 2010. Fremont, California.
“I fought with you in the Senate for comprehensive immigration reform. And I will make it a top priority in my first year as President.” — To the National Council of La Raza in San Diego in July 2008.
“I can tell you that in the United States, the fact that we have free Internet — or unrestricted Internet access is a source of strength, and I think should be encouraged. Now, I should tell you, I should be honest, as President of the United States, there are times where I wish information didn’t flow so freely because then I wouldn’t have to listen to people criticizing me all the time.” — The comments to the Communist Chinese delegation in November 2009.
And the Grand Daddy of Them All…
“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.” — This quote was attributed to Obama by Patrick Gaspard, who was Obama’s first White House political director, in an interview with The New Yorker in November 2008.
