Patriotic Brits warn that proposed Islamophobia law in UK could easily ‘pave the way to a police state’

Some quite odd things have been happening in the British body politic since roughly the 1960s.

Case in point, the Labour Party (the liberals) have long ago quit caring about the downtrodden working-class. Now they’ve essentially become totalitarian wannabes who would make Uncle Joe Stalin blush.

On the other side of the coin would be the Conservative Party (the Tories) who long ago quit caring about the United Kingdom being at least in the top five economic powerhouses on the globe. Now they’ve essentially become totalitarian wannabes who would make Comrade Mao blush.

Examples would include The Firearms Act of 1920 (which came about because of fear of a Bolshevik revolution à la Russia just two years prior.

Another would be the CCTV (closed circuit television) government spying on the average Briton that has resulted in one CCTV camera for every 11 British citizens, according to London’s The Telegraph.

Then came the Rotherham Grooming Scandal that took place for nearly 40 years (1980S-2013). As noted by the Gatestone Institute, the authorities of the South Yorkshire city were scared to death of being labeled “Islamophobic” if they arrested generations worth of mainly Pakistani men of raping and/or forcing into prostitution (“Grooming” as the British say) at least 1,400 Christian, Hindu and Sikh minor girls.

As the Gatestone Institute noted in 2017; (Emphasis mine)

British authorities, especially police and social workers, criminally turned their backs on thousands of girls, who were groomed and raped “on an industrial scale” by Muslim rape gangs, especially in the city of Rotherham. Officials let down these children in the most horrific manner exactly because they had become conditioned to think along the lines of “Islamophobia”. They grossly neglected their duties to protect the public, because they cared more about being labeled an “Islamophobe” or a “racist” than they did about the many young innocent lives that were being destroyed.

British police run away from rioting jihadists.

Now comes the Tories and Labour teaming-up to possibly pass a new law that specifically would change the definition of Islamophobia.

If passed, civil libertarians worry that Islam in Britain would by force of British criminal law, Islam would be the recipient of de facto blasphemy law that would result in anyone who would even question Islamic dogma, cultural practices, sharia jurisprudence, etc., very well could face a prison sentence.

As reported by The Spectator (British edition);

There is a looming risk the Government will soon subscribe to a definition of Islamophobia that will function as a backdoor blasphemy law shielding one religion from valid criticism, even by fellow believers. At worst, the proposed definition of Islamophobia could pave the way to a police state in which none of us can be sure when we might be arrested.

Until 28 January, the Home Affairs Committee is calling for evidence on Islamophobia. It is considering the definition proposed recently by the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on British Muslims, co-chaired by Anna Soubry and Wes Streeting. It has proposed the following definition:

‘Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.’

If this definition becomes law, no one would be sure which forms of words could land them in court. It is precisely such uncertainty that makes the difference between a police state and a free society.
