As the old saying goes, “You have to spend money to make money.”
Everyone from corporations to government agencies to charities invest in everything from advertisements to pay raises to advanced leadership/technical training. All because of the wise old adage “You have to spend money to make money.”
In the meantime, the multi-gazilloion dollar Amazon, Inc. has decided to open their new global co-headquarters in both New York City and Crystal City, VA. It’s a safe bet that both cities and their surrounding metropolitan areas will figuratively be awash in cash.
But to the chagrin of some, especially socialists, investing millions in order to bring in billions is a bad move.
As reported by the Washington Post (which Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos just so happens to own);
“We’ve been getting calls and outreach from Queens residents all day about this. The community’s response? Outrage,” said Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who will take office in January.
Many were concerned about the impact on the cost of living and questioned why a company run by Bezos — the world’s wealthiest person — needed any public funds.
Obviously, Ocasio-Cortez demonstrates just how truly ignorant she is when it comes the very basics of economics. Or as ex-lumberjack and former reality show star turned lawyer and congressman, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wisc.) said of his future colleague;
“Not very smart people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez goes out there and bought what her liberal professors sold her at some crazy university that this is bad for New York.”
