“I want to assure Cranston parents that we are working closely with the Cranston Police Department on this matter. Cranston Police Chief Winquist has dispatched a uniformed police officer to each school. In addition, a uniformed Cranston police officer will be in attendance at all after school programming and activities.” – Supt. Judith Lundsten
While the beheading of Oklahoman Colleen Hufford just two weeks past, police in Rhode Island are taking a threat to behead children more than slightly serious. The CBS affiliate network in Connecticut has reported on Oct. 9, 2014 that local law enforcement has received a threatening letter plainly stating that “beheading is planned” against children in three specific Rhode Island communities.
Colonel Steven McCartney, Chief of Police of Warwick stated a threat to elementary school students in three Ocean State communities of Warwick, Cranston and Johnston was sent via the U.S. Mail, but will be taken serious, nonetheless. Without going into the specifics of the letter, Col. McCartney did say the nature of the threat “was chilling.”
Understandably, Rhode Island parents are on edge, especially with the Washington Free Beacon verifying on Oct. 9, 2014 that the threatening letter specifically targeted “elementary school students.” Meanwhile, police are working hand in hand with school officials to both soothe raw nerves by reassuring steps were being taken to protect the children.
“The intent of the Warwick Police Department is to allow the education of the students to continue safely,” Col. McCartney stated. Adding to the chief’s reassurance, Cranston Public School Superintendent Dr. Judith Lundsten said recess will be canceled and students will not wait outside but will enter immediately.
Dr. Lundsten also took to social media when she posted on the district’s official website further information to parents and students. Speaking in the singular, Lundsten noted “I want to assure Cranston parents that we are working closely with the Cranston Police Department on this matter. Cranston Police Chief Winquist has dispatched a uniformed police officer to each school. In addition, a uniformed Cranston police officer will be in attendance at all after school programming and activities.”
Besides ISIS terrorists calling on “lone wolf” attacks by jihaddist sympathizers here in America, to include women and children, the recent attack in Oklahoma was perpetrated by jailhouse convert to Islam, Jah’Keem Yisrael, formerly known as Alton Nolen. According to reports, Yisrael/Nolen was screaming “Islamic phrases” during his attack. The al-Qaeda allied ISIS terrorists have also very publicly executed by decapitation a number of Western hostages, to include two Americans.
