“Cut military pensions instead of cutting welfare for illegal immigrants…”
Reporter Elizabeth Harrington of The Washington Free Beacon is dropping a bombshell report on Dec. 17, 2013, citing obtained government documentation illustrating that the architects of the Ryan-Murray Budget deal will not only specifically target only retirees from the Uniformed Services (vice including civilian federal workers) with 20+ years service, but those from the military who were medically retired for wounds received would also face huge cuts to their financially important annual COLA (Cost Of Living Allowance) increases.
The Washington Free Beacon isn’t the only news organ reporting that disabled vets also face cost of living cuts.
In a dizzying legislative dance, the US Senate completed the vote to conduct a vote later on what the House has already voted on, as reported by CBS News on Dec. 17, 2013.
With a vote of 67-33 in favor of cloture, the Senate has elected to stop all debate on the $63 billion budget increase deal that will largely be financed on the backs of those retired from the Uniformed Services to include the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps) and the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHS).
“This is the worst kind of example of a shady, backroom deal.” — Col. Michael Barron US Army (Ret.)
The recent proposed federal budget deal cut by the former Republican vice presidential candidate will be payed for out of the flesh of uniformed retirees, as reported by the right-of-center news portal Breitbart.com on Dec. 16, 2013.
Citing CNN Money’s Jennifer Liberto, Matthew Boyle of Breitbart News notes that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) brokered a deal with Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) that ensured a mere handful of years worth of governmental spending would come at the expense of the annual COLA (Cost of Living Allowances) increases for those retired from the Uniformed Services, to include NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps) and the PHS (Public Health Service Commissioned Corps).
