No Fear of the Police: Heroin Junkies Turn Midtown Manhattan into ‘Shooting Gallery’

There was a simpler time in America when a “shooting gallery” was a place you went to at the county fair to win a Kewpie Doll for your best girl.

Well, these aren’t simpler times. This is 2020 America where Democrat politicians have demonized everything that’s good and decent.

As the New York Post is reporting, Manhattan’s shooting gallery is right around 40th St and Broadway. Sadly, it appears as if New York’s Finest is looking the other way as junkies are shooting up in broad daylight.

In all honesty, I don’t know if I could really blame the NYPD for looking the other way. I get the very real impression that the current resident of Gracie Mansion is itching for a reason… any reason… to toss even more cops off the police force.

Noted by New York Post reporters Julie Coleman and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon;

It’s the Great Black Tar Way.

A cluster of junkies has turned Broadway into a shooting gallery, injecting drugs unhampered in broad daylight and then shuffling around in a zonked-out stupor, seemingly oblivious to the Midtown bustle around them, The Post has learned.

If that wasn’t enough, the addicts are peppering the area with used syringes, turning individual planters on 40th Street and Broadway into mini needle parks.

“They’ve taken over the tables, blatantly using needles and shooting up heroin all day long,” said a local worker who asked that he only be identified as James. “There’s no police action, there’s no reach-out. There’s nobody preventing this, and you know we’ve had multiple calls to 311 but nobody really responds. It’s becoming a real problem.”

He called his own 311 calls “futile exercises.”

The Post spotted several of the spent needles dumped at the scene — and even caught one of the vagrants shooting up out in the open on Tuesday afternoon, with no one stepping in or saying a word.

(VIDEO) Broad Daylight: NYPD’s Top Cop Attacked by Mob, Required Stitches

Hey Terry, I thought you were their friend?

When you lay with dogs, don’t be surprised when you catch fleas…

Remember when New York City’s chief of police (official title: Chief of Department) Terence Monahan posed for the cameras and joined the mob in ‘taking a knee”, as seen in the video below?

Well, Terry may have thought he was in tight with the thugs, but now it seems that these jackals have turned on the same guy that knelt with them.

As it turn out, there was (yet again) another “peaceful protest”, this time on New York’s famed Brooklyn Bridge.

For whatever bizarre reason, Chief Monahan thought it was a good idea to make a showing. Even more bizarre, Monahan thought it was a good idea to only have a handful of officers escort him into the belly of the beast.

In retrospect, that wasn’t too bright of an idea. At least two other officers injured and an undetermined number of stitches later, and at least 10 arrested…

As reported by Breitbart.com (emphasis mine);

Monahan received “non-life threatening injuries” during the scuffle and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

A police source said Monahan’s hand was injured and required stitches after protesters attacked NYPD officers with a chain during the morning rally. At least two other officers were also injured.

The attack on Monahan came just one day after he [Monahan] said in an interview that there’s “a feeling on the street that the police are handcuffed,” and “are fearful that they may be arrested if they take some proactive-type enforcement.”

“[T]here’s a lot of different factors into it. We’ve mentioned bail reform and COVID releases, but just as importantly, if not more importantly, is the animosity towards the police that was generated after the Floyd protests,” he told New York’s 1010 WINS.

“The new law that was passed by the city council has cops hesitant. They are fearful that they may be arrested if they take some proactive-type enforcement. The disbanding of anti-Crime, obviously, has a huge effect. Those are our best cops out on the street, grabbing guns. So, there’s a feeling that it’s safe to carry a gun on the street.”

Wednesday attack comes in the wake of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) confirming that he will slash $1 billion from the budget of NYPD, despite a surge in shootings in the wake of protests and violent unrest.

(VIDEO) 411 Percent Increase: NY City Now Restricting How Many Police Officers Can Retire

It goes without saying that due to Bill de Blasio (born Warren Wilhelm Jr.) gutting the NYPD’s budget by over $1 billion, coupled with his saddling-up with the domestic terrorist known as BLM, has police morale dipping to historic lows.

Of course, members of New York’s Finest have pretty much had it.

So much so that the number of officers submitting their retirement papers have seen an increase of up to 411 percent.

As reported by the New York Post;

surge of city cops filing papers during the past week more than quadrupled last year’s number — as the city grapples with a surge of shootings — and the stampede caused a bottleneck that’s forcing others to delay putting in their papers, officials and sources said.

The NYPD said Wednesday that 179 cops filed for retirement between June 29 and Monday, an astounding 411 percent increase over the 35 who filed during the same period in 2019.

The astonishing rush for the door came as 503 cops filed for retirement between May 25 — the day George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis, sparking anti-cop protests around the country — and July 3, the NYPD said.

That number represents a 75 percent increase over the 287 who filed for retirement during the same time last year, the NYPD said.

Sources said the deluge of applications had overwhelmed the department — due to cancellation of overtime for the workers who process them — and that the number of daily applicants was being limited as a result.

Seemingly hellbent on turning the Big Apple into more of a Third World dung heap than he’s already succeeded in doing, officers are voicing their reasons for putting in their papers.

As penned by reporters Craig McCarthy, Tina Moore, Larry Celona and Bruce Golding, a line was actually seen forming outside of police headquarters at One Police Plaza in downtown Manhattan, a number of officers spoke on grounds of anonymity (emphasis mine);

“Apparently, the pension section is only taking a certain amount of people per day and I think they are backed up ’til late July, early August,” one cop said.

“That’s why you don’t see like 100 a day, because they are only doing like 35 to 40 a day, by appointment.”

“There’s just droves and droves of people retiring. But there’s no surprise here, who the hell wants to stay on this job?” one cop said.

“Why would you want to stay on this job when people don’t appreciate what you do?

“This is the best time to leave,” one cop said.

“You’ve padded the numbers as high as you can pad them.”

Another cop noted, “When they cut the OT, a lot of people were done.”

“Also, there’s another class hitting their 20th year in September, so that will be another group leaving,” the source added, noting that cops often retire once they hit the minimum requirement for pension vestment.

On a personal note, this reminds me of an old Russian saying; “People get the leaders they deserve.”

Maybe a bit more direct, to the people of New York City: This is the guy you voted for to be your mayor (twice) … this is what you get.

The fraternal bond between law enforcement officials has long been known for its legendary strength in the face of adversary and grief. Yet the show of solidarity recently displayed in New York City has crossed not only international borders, but reached beyond the seas. As reported by the Washington, DC-based the Raw Story news portal on Dec. 28, 2014, former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani took to the airwaves to cite that officers attending the funeral for an assassinated brother weren’t just from The Big Apple.

Cop-haters now hate JetBlue for flying cops to funerals of two executed officers

Despite the mayor of the Big Apple asking those who tag police forces across the nation as racist or in a de facto state of war with black and brown people, more than a few took to both the streets and as well to social media to spread their hatred of the proverbial Boys in Blue. As reported by the right-of-center The Daily Caller news portal on Dec. 26, 2014, and also by CNN Money via Fox6 (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) on Dec. 25, 2014, much to the chagrin of many of the anti-police activists, JetBlue airline is offering to fly two police officers from each law enforcement agency on its various routes across the nation to New York City for thefunerals of NYPD Officers Liu and Ramos, who were assassinated last weekend.

NYPD ‘Pigs’: Another ‘Hard Hat Riot’ could erupt as marchers again taunt cops

It may be a case of everything old is new again. Much like during the turbulent late ’60s and early ’70s when more than just a few hard-left individuals managed to get their images splashed across television screens across the planet, much like their forefathers of almost half a century ago, today’s members and supporters of The Revolutionary Communist Party, USA are propagating as loud as they can to convince the masses that police departments across the nation are dyed-in-the-wool racists, referred to as “Pigs,” who seek to murder as many blacks and Latinos as possible.
