Moscow afraid of 700 American Marines

The Norwegian government has extended the invitation to the Trump Administration to slightly double the number of US Marines to participate in the Scandinavian version of “extreme cold weather training”.

If accepted, the number of Leathernecks involved in the six-month long training cycle would jump from approximately 300 to a whopping 700. And this has the Russians seeing red.

Maybe a tour of duty in Norway isn’t all bad.

As reported by Evie Fordham of The Daily Caller, the Russian embassy in Oslo has taken to Facebook to voice their displeasure;

The Russian Embassy in Norway warned of “consequences” after Norway invited up to 700 U.S. Marines to the country.

“We qualify them as clearly unfriendly and they will not remain without consequences.”

Not quite done whining over a battalion’s worth Marines, the Russkie rant continued on with the warning that the mere presence of the Marines would lead to an “arms race and lead to destabilization of the situation in northern Europe.”

Possibly missing something in the translations from Russian to Norwegian to English, the insult/threat leveled at the Norwegians seemed to lack some oompf;

We believe that security in Europe must be equal and indivisible. It can only be built on the basis of respect for genuine national interests, mutual respect and cooperation. The better you see it in Oslo, the better.

British police brand English flag as ‘imperialistic’

Britain’s top cop against so-called “football hooligans” has issued a warning to English soccer fans heading to Russia for the World Cup international tournament; don’t bring you English flag.

Not only has Deputy Chief Constable Mark Roberts, national lead officer of “football policing,” warned the upwards of 10,000 English fans heading to the Land of the Rus that the Cross of St. George could be seen as “imperialistic” and “antagonistic”.

As reported by Liam Deacon of Brietbart London;

Deputy Chief Constable Mark Roberts argued the St George’s Crosses were seen as the top trophies for rival fans and ultras, as well as appearing to link them to the history of the British Empire.

“I think people need to be really careful with flags. It can come across as almost imperialistic… and can cause antagonism,” he told The Times.

“We really urge some caution about people putting flags out and waving them about in public, there is a bit of risk when people draw attention to themselves and people need to be aware of that.

Ex-Fox News anchor Heather Nauert promoted to Under Secretary of State

Since Heather Nauert moved on to another job last year, it may have been a loss to the Fox News Channel, but it certainly was America’s gain.

News services as divergent as the Associated Press, the Washington Free Beacon, and Newsweek magazine are all in agreement; Heather Nauert is someone who’s star is on the rise.

With Rex Tillerson finding himself out as the Secretary of State just last week, his Under Secretary of State Steve Goldstein was also showed the door.

Enter the State Department’s official spokeswoman Heather Nauert.

On the same day Tillerson and Goldstein were given the boot, the White House announced nearly simultaneously that she would take Goldstein’s place with the snappy title of Acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.

nauert-abd_2

In the State Department pecking order, Nauert went from spokeswoman to the #4 diplomat at State.

Going a bit more into the specifics of her new post, the Associated Press noted;

She is overseeing the public diplomacy in Washington and all of the roughly 275 overseas U.S. embassies, consulates and other posts. She is in charge of the Global Engagement Center that fights extremist messaging from the Islamic State group and others. She can take a seat, if she wants, on the Broadcasting Board of Governors that steers government broadcast networks such as Voice of America.

Also reported, she also appears to enjoy tweaking Vladimir Putin’s nose;

“The idea that Russia is calling for a so-called humanitarian corridor, I want to be clear, is a joke,” Nauert said at one recent briefing where she took Moscow to task for its actions in Syria, where it has used military power to support President Bashar Assad’s government.

She’s also cultivated quite a reputation when it comes to dealing with Russian reporters, who more often than not are on Putin’s payroll.

As the AP also cited;

“You’re from Russian TV, too. OK. So hey, enough said then. I’ll move on,” Nauert told a reporter last month after Russian President Vladimir Putin presented an animated film clip showing a missile headed toward the U.S.

Top Marine General warns troops: ‘There’s a war coming’

When the Commandant of the Marine Corps tells his Marines to be ready for a “big-ass fight” coming their way, even non-Marines tend to pay attention.

Speaking to one of the Marine battalions that rotate six-month tours of duty in Norway, Gen. Robery Neller was quite upfront telling his Leathernecks, “I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming.”

Marines practising the “mad minute” in Norway.

As reported by Military.com;

The Norwegian Home Guard base near Trondheim that houses the Marine rotational force was the first stop on Gen. Robert Neller’s annual Christmas tour.

The stop was a new one for the tour. The first Norway rotation, from 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, deployed in January and was replaced by a new unit from 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, in late August.

Neller emphasized to the Marines that they should remain ready to fight at all times, predicting a “big-ass fight” on the horizon.

“I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming,” Neller said. ” … You’re in a fight here, an informational fight, a political fight, by your presence.”

Neller later told the Marines that he expects the Pacific and Russia to be the service’s operational points of focus as the nation looks beyond the fights in the Middle East that have stretched into the better part of two decades.

The United States’ position that Russia presents a major threat was re-emphasized in the new National Security Strategy released Monday. The document discusses Russia’s practice of “using information tools” to interfere with other nations’ democracies and militant aggression that crosses borders.

“With its invasions of Georgia and Ukraine, Russia demonstrates its willingness to violate the sovereignty of states in the region,” the strategy states.

Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Ronald Green put the Marines’ role starkly.

“Just remember why you’re here,” he said. “They’re watching. Just like you watch them, they watch you. We’ve got 300 Marines up here; we could go from 300 to 3,000 overnight. We could raise the bar.”

ABC News honcho bans Brian Ross from all Trump coverage forever

Open mouth, insert foot.
Open mouth, insert foot.

In an example of fake news of Biblical proportions, here’s the Reader’s Digest version of the rather rapid crash and subsiquent burn of the professional career of ABC’s Brian Ross;

  • He reported that Candidate Trump ordered so-called collusion with those no-goodnick Russkies
  • That was quickly changed to President-elect Trump authorizing a legitimate diplomatic outreach to Moscow
  • Quicker than you could say Jack Robinson, Ross was suspended for 30-days sans pay

According to liberal blow-hard Joy Behar (and the rest of her cast of stooges and singular RINO), ABC’s star reporter simply made a “mistake,” blah, blah, blah.

Ahh… but all that folderol was just the warm-ups regarding the latest in public humiliation for Ross, who also just so happens to be billed as the Chief Investigative Correspondent for ABC News.

As reported by (believe it or not) CNN;

ABC News president James Goldston excoriated staff Monday over Brian Ross’ major error on a report about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and announced that Ross, the network’s chief investigative reporter, will no longer cover stories related to President Trump.

Goldston also told staffers that the network was conducting a “full review” of the error and its aftermath.

Ross had initially reported Friday morning that Flynn was prepared to testify that Donald Trump as a candidate had instructed him to reach out to the Russians. Ross said more than seven hours later on “World News Tonight” that his information was actually that Flynn was prepared to testify Trump made the request as president-elect. On Saturday evening, ABC News said Ross had been suspended for four weeks without pay for what it termed the “serious error.”

During ABC News’ morning editorial call Monday, audio of which was obtained by CNN, Goldston excoriated his staff for the error.

“I don’t think ever in my career have I felt more rage and disappointment and frustration that I felt through this weekend and through the last half of Friday,” Goldston said.

“I don’t even know how many times we’ve talked about this, how many times we have talked about the need to get it right,” he added. “That how we have to be right and not first. About how in this particular moment, with the stakes as high as these stakes are right now, we cannot afford to get it wrong.”

Media Yawns: Facebook Admits to Congress that Russia Tried to Ruin Trump

Did you know that the Russians actually put forth a huge effort to convince the American people the the recently elected President Donald Trump had no business being moving to the White House, and actually sought to de-legitimize his win in 2016?

If you didn’t know, don’t feel bad. The Establishment Media has either given this bombshell news either scant attention, if not completely ignored it.

With the Swamp Democrats and their GOP Establishment allies, along with their always reliable media stooges, this up-to-date Axis of Evil has done everything in their power to persuade the people that evil Donald Trump was secretly colluding with equally evil Vladimir Putin to steal the presidential election from the virginal Hillary Clinton.

But amazingly enough, Facebook’s general counsel attorney Colin Stretch testified before the Senate’s Judiciary Committee’s Crime and Terrorism Subcommittee, the Democrat and RINO narrative has been turned on its head.

As reported by Politico’s Nancy Scola and Ashley Gold (emphasis mine);

Top lawyers from Facebook and Twitter said Tuesday that Russian-linked posts and advertisements placed on the social networks after Election Day sought to sow doubt about President Donald Trump’s victory.

Facebook general counsel Colin Stretch told a Senate Judiciary panel that content generated by a Russian troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency after Nov. 8 centered on “fomenting discord about the validity of [Trump’s] election.” That’s a change from Russia’s pre-election activity, which was largely centered on trying to denigrate Hillary Clinton, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said in a January report.

“During the election, they were trying to create discord between Americans, most of it directed against Clinton. After the election you saw Russian-tied groups and organizations trying to undermine President Trump’s legitimacy. Is that what you saw on Facebook?” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) asked at the hearing.

Stretch and his Twitter counterpart, Sean Edgett, called that an “accurate” statement.

However as NewsBusters.org reporter Kyle Drennen published, the big three network news channels failed to objectively and honestly report the unvarnished news as it was breaking on Capitol Hill (emphasis mine);

While the broadcast networks all eagerly hyped social media executives being hauled before Congress on Tuesday to testify about Russian interference in the 2016 election, only CBS covered a revelation from the hearing that Russia sought to undermine Donald Trump’s legitimacy as president after the campaign was over.

On Tuesday, The Hill reported a specific example of how Russian-backed groups worked to undermine Trump immediately after the election. A left-wing protest against the then-President-elect was attended by thousands of demonstrators outside Trump Tower on November 12, 2016 and was “organized by the Facebook page for BlackMattersUS, a Russian-linked group that sought to capitalize on racial tensions between black and white Americans.”

At least CBS noted the fact that the President was a target of Russian propaganda, NBC and ABC didn’t bother to include that detail in their coverage of the hearing. Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News had a full report on the testimony and Wednesday’s Today show offered a 25-second news brief on how “officials from Facebook and Google and Twitter took a lashing from lawmakers over Russia’s involvement in last year’s presidential election.”

News Flash: Russian spying on the United States since 1850s

russian
russian
Democrats respond to Russian spying.

Russian spying: Should I dare bring up the Soviet spies that infiltrated the Democrat Administration of Franklin Roosevelt?

This may come as somewhat of a shock to the Democrats, but Russia has been spying on our beloved America since at least the middle of the 19th century. Way before Boris Badenov tried to rig the outcome of the football game between Wossamatta U. and the Mud City Manglers, the Russians have been knee-deep in America’s affairs of state.

In spite of the Democrats recent clutching of pearls and near apoplectic drama when the cameras are on, those nogoodniks in Mother Russia have been snoopin’ and poopin’ on us since at least 1851.

As noted in the book The Treaty of Portsmouth and Its Legacies, edited by Steven Ericson and Allen Hockley, the American ambassador to Czarist Russia, Neil S. Brown from 1851-1853, reported back to Washington that the “most disagreeable features of Russia were its secrecy, surveillance, distrust, undue ceremony and delay, overbearing police, censorship, and espionage, including opening communications and spying.” Sounds like the Obama Administration.

It’s a fair bet that the same espionage and spying Ambassador Brown decried was also pointed directly at the American embassy in the then Russian capital of St. Petersburg.

By the way, the definition of espionage is “the practice

russia
Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, the DNC’s boogyman. (Youtube)

of spying or using spies to obtain information about the plans and activities especially of a foreign government”.

Speaking of fair bets, our own CIA notes in their official website that a little sumpin’-sumpin’ called the Zagranichnaia okhranka (fancy Russian talk for the House of Romanov’s Imperial Police) opened their Paris office in 1883 to keep an eye on Russian troublemakers who’ve been booted from the Land of the Rus.

And yes, it’s a fair bet that the butt-in-skis at the unpronounceable Zagranichnaia okhranka poked their collective noses into the goings-on at the American embassy regarding the status of Russians who had recently emigrated to the States.

But if Czarist Russia isn’t your cup of tea, there’s always the re-branded Russians, also known as the Soviets.

In the Edward Mickolus book The Counterintelligence Chronology: Spying by and Against the United States from the 1700s through 2014, the author notes that the former-USSR posted their first (that we know of) intelligence officer in the United States.

As it turns out, standard spy-craft wasn’t enough for the Soviets. Even the dependably left-leaning PBS cited on their website;

The Amtorg Trading Corporation is an American company based in New York that was founded in 1924 by the Soviet Union to serve as its buying and selling organization in trade between the USSR and the USA. It handled the bulk of Soviet-American trade until 1935, and continues to exist today. Working as an Amtorg employee served as a convenient cover for Soviet spies, such as Morris Cohen.

That’s right. The same Morris Cohen who turned his back on the land of his birth, and later against Great Britain, for the Soviet Union.

They’re called the RED Sox for a reason

As a matter of national policy most nations in the north, south and west of Europe frown upon the slightest whiff of anything that might be described as “Islamophobia”. It’s bad enough when police in Germany, Sweden and Britain are accused of covering-up Muslim perpetrated crimes for fear of being labeled Islamophobic racists, France recently fined six youths 500 ($558) each for the high crime of displaying a banner that translated to English: “Expel The Islamists”. Saudis join with ISIS call for jihad against Western ‘Crusaders’ to include USA

Love, hate or indifferent to George W. Bush, many agree that during his administration there were clear lines of delineation of who basically was on our side and who was against us in the Middle East. Love, hate or indifferent to Barack H. Obama, many agree that knowing who in the Middle East has our back, and who wants to stab us in the back aren’t quite as clear cut.

When promising Iraq was sovereign, stable, and self-reliant, Obama ordered the last of the American combat troops out in 2011. But the situation is so convoluted now, even Western media outlets can’t seem to agree who is for us or against us. Case in point: Reporter Tom Batchelor of Great Britain’s the Daily Express newspaper noted on Oct. 14, 2015, that the ISIS terrorist organization is calling on a global jihad specifically aimed at Russian and American targets across the globe.

However, just the day prior, reporter Mary Chastain of the new media Breitbart.com news organization reports that ISIS has indeed called for an Islamic jihad against the two Cold War adversaries. Yet Chastain also noted that the al-Nusra Front terrorists and a number of Saudi Arabian clerics are also saddling-up with ISIS in calling for violence against the United States and Russia.

As cited by Batchelor, ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammad al-Adnani left little to the imagination when he said, “‘Islamic youth everywhere, ignite jihad against the Russians and the Americans in their crusaders’ war against Muslims.” With the al-Nusra Front pledging their military and doctrinal allegiance to the Usama Bin Laden founded al-Qaeda terrorists, Breitbart.com’s Chastain notes their leader Abu Mohammad al-Jolani fell in line with ISIS. As quoted, “If the Russian army kills the people of Syria, then kill their people. And if they kill our soldiers, then kill their soldiers. An eye for an eye.”

Far from done, al-Jolani as then vowed to pay “three million euros ($3.4 million) for anyone who can kill Bashar al-Assad and end his story.” He also promised to compensate anyone who killed a member of the Assad family. Ostensibly, the bounty on any member of the Assad family also includes any of his three young children.

Even further confusing the situation, Chastain also cites that a number of Sunni clerics in Saudi Arabia are calling for a Sunni jihad against the Russians. With al-Qaeda overwhelmingly Sunni, and ISIS equally Shiite, both groups seek the destruction of Russia, Israel and the United States.

But the regional patrons of ISIS and al-Qaeda are funded, supported, and armed by the same Russians and Americans that ISIS and al-Qaeda despise. Many have speculated that a sizable amount of weaponry from the Saudi inventory has made its way to their brother Sunnis in al-Qaeda. There has also been questions if Iran is sincere in their open declaration to fight against their fellow Shiites in ISIS.

Citing numerous sources, as previously covered by Examiner.com, Obama sent during early 2014 more Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) anti-tank missiles in one shipment to Saudi Arabia than the entire inventory of the US Marine Corps. Also cited in the same report was that the Obama Administration shipped TOWs to one of the supposedly moderate Syrian militias who in fact are allied with the al-Nusra Front, who have often been characterized as the al-Qaeda branch in Syria.

The Washington Post reported earlier this year that between October 2010 and October 2014 alone, the United States sold the Sunni Saudi Arabians more than $90 billion worth of some of the most sophisticated weapons on the planet. For their part, the Russians have been quite open regarding giving billions of dollars worth of comparably sophisticated weapons to their Shiite-dominated Iranian allies.

Putin-mania sweeps Middle East, Russia; ‘I Go Hard Like Vladimir Putin’
