Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were reportedly seized from rioters in both Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon, according to authorities.
Seattle and Portland have been the scene of riots in recent months following the death of George Floyd. In Seattle, an autonomous zone – first dubbed the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” and later renamed the “Capitol Hill Organized Protest” – was set up for weeks in June.
Portland has seen consistent violence from protesters as federal officers try to protect the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse.
Seattle Police Department Chief Carmen Best announced Thursday that a recent search warrant found multiple weapons, including an improvised explosive, according to Q13’s Brandi Kruse. The warrant was for an impounded van taken at Saturday’s riot.
Other weapons reportedly found included bear spray, tasers and improvised spike strips, according to Best. The items were reportedly being given to people in the crowd.

Then came Day 369, when the couple was biking in formation with a group of other tourists on a panoramic stretch of road in southwestern Tajikistan. It was there, on July 29, that a carload of men who are believed to have recorded a video pledging allegiance to the Islamic State spotted them.
A grainy cellphone clip [seen below] recorded by a driver shows what happened next: The mens Daewoo sedan passes the cyclists and then makes a sharp U-turn. It doubles back, and aims directly for the bikers, ramming into them and lurching over their fallen forms. In all, four people were killed: Mr. Austin, Ms. Geoghegan and cyclists from Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Without fail, ISIS jumped on taking responsibility for the killings, Again, from the NY Times;
In a bulletin issued by the internal news agency of the Islamic State on Monday, the group described the assailants as “soldiers of the Islamic State” and said the attack was “in response to calls to target citizens of Coalition countries.”
In a third article on the same topic, the NY Times also reported;
A day after claiming its first attack in Tajikistan, the Islamic State released a video on Tuesday that purports to show the five attackers joining hands and pledging allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the terrorist group’s leader.
The video was released by the Islamic State’s internal news agency and suggests that the attackers had at least a digital connection to the Islamic State, allowing them to send the footage to the group before last weekend’s attack on several cyclists who were run over and attacked on a mountain road in Tajikistan.
Austin recently penned in his personal blog his musings of his experiences has he and Geoghegan biked the globe;
You watch the news and you read the papers and you’re led to believe that the world is a big, scary place. People, the narrative goes, are not to be trusted. People are bad. People are evil. People are axe murderers and monsters and worse.
I don’t buy it. Evil is a make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own—it’s easier to dismiss an opinion as abhorrent than strive to understand it. Badness exists, sure, but even that’s quite rare. By and large, humans are kind.
Self-interested sometimes, myopic sometimes, but kind. Generous and wonderful and kind. No greater revelation has come from our journey than this.
In a rather gruesome article published by the New York Times, it was revealed that not only did the ISIS cowards run down the bikers, after they were either dead or dying, the terrorists then set upon them with edged weapons;
Some of the bodies of the cyclists were found to have stab wounds, and in a statement posted on its website, the United States Embassy in Tajikistan confirmed that the attackers first used their vehicle to crush the victims and then jumped out and stabbed them with knives.
There have been some wild and wacky fatwas (religious edicts) issued by various Islamic clerics throughout the years, but the latest may prove to be cat-astrophic. As reported by IraqiNews.com (of Manama, Bahrain) and Metro.com news (of London, United Kingdom), breeding cats is now strictly verboten within the Islamic Caliphate. UPDATE: German television is now stating that Bavaria is officially in a state of emergency. Civilians have been ordered to stay off the streets.
On the heels of a axe-wielding 17-year-old Afghan migrant attempting to kill a number of people on a commuter train in Bavaria just a few days ago, terrorism has again hit the south of Germany.
In a fluid and constantly changing situation, Great Britain’s Sky News live streaming is reporting that at least eight innocent people are dead and “several” wounded at the hands of at least three gunmen.
The Washington Times is reporting that “The Associated Press said shots were fired at a McDonald’s near the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum shopping center. Sky News has confirmed a second shooting at a metro [railway] station in Munich.”
According to Munich’s Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, “the city has shut down its transit system as authorities believe the shooter or shooters are still on the loose.”
Sky News is reporting that while the style of attacking more than one site at a time has all the earmarks of either al-Qaeda or ISIS, there are eyewitnesses claiming that at least one of the gunmen was yelling in a native Bavarian-sounding accented German insults against “foreigners”.
In the course of the ISIS terrorist organization doing their level best to establish a world-wide Islamic caliphate, many have argued that their methods have been barbaric at a minimum, Satanic at a maximum. Case in point: Beheading or burning alive their captives has simply become, as the French would say, just so passé, if now down right gauche.
Proving you can’t spell “terrorist” without “terror,” the jihadists are now dropping their victims in a hug vat filled with nitric acid. As reported by William Watkinson of the International Business Times (UK edition) and also by Sara Malm of the London-based Daily Mail, both on May 19, 2016, word is slowly getting out of the one-third of Iraq that’s still under ISIS control that 25 captured “spies” were dispatched in the highly corrosive acid until their “organs dissolved.”
According to sources, “ISIS terrorist members executed 25 persons in Mosul on charges of spying and collaborating with Iraqi security forces. ISIS members tied each person with a rope and lowered him in the tub, which contains nitric acid, till the victims organs dissolve.”
As noted by both news services, nitric acid is normally used in the manufacture of ammonium nitrate, which then can be used in the production of either fertilizer or explosives. Never known as having an affinity for gardening, it’s plainly obvious as to why the rather bloody Islamic jihadists would maintain a supply of nitric acid on hand. Now, thanks to the likes of ISIS, the corrosive liquid is also used in dispensing death by Shari’a courts against the enemies of the global caliphate.
With the occupied city of Mosul the de facto capital of ISIS Iraq, the city is also home to the ancient Christian population comprised mainly by Chaldean-rite Catholics and the Orthodox Assyrians. As reported also by the IBT on May 18, 2016, a Christian girl from Mosul who suffered third and fourth degree burns throughout her body asked that the ISIS thugs who grievously harmed her be forgiven. The yet to be publicly identified child has since died from her injuries.
Estimated a mere 12-years-old, the child was showering in their Mosul home when unbeknownst to her, her mother was approached by roaming ISIS members who were shaking down the Christians to pay the Jaziya, the extra tax levied on Christians, or face banishment or death. As reported, “They told the family they must leave their home immediately or pay — but when asked for a few seconds to grab the cash the thugs decided to show the limits of their mercy.”
According to human rights advocate, Jacqueline Isaac, “The ISIS foreign fighters were at her door and they told her ‘you have two choices, you are to leave now or you are to pay the Jaziya’. She said ‘I will pay, give me a few seconds my daughter is in the shower.’ They said ‘you don’t have a few seconds’ and they lit the house with a torch from the bathroom the daughter was showering in.”
“As the flames engulfed the building the mother ran to rescue her child from the bathroom but before she could pull her from the flames she had been left with fourth-degree burns.” Isaac added: “The daughter had fourth degree burns and the mother took her daughter, scrambling, doing anything to save her. Rushed her to the hospital and her daughter died in her arms. The last thing her daughter said: ‘Forgive them’.”
As the air forces and navies of Greece and Egypt scour the thousands of square miles of the Mediterranean Sea where bits and pieces of EgyptAir Flight 804 have reportedly been seen, the governments of France and Egypt have already stated that Islamic jihadi terrorists are “the likely” perpetrators of the downed Paris to Cairo Airbus A320.
In the meantime on this side of the pond, the most prominent figure in American politics has weighed in on the latest man-caused disaster that’s claimed 66 lives.
In an impromptu question and answer session with the White House press corpse held at the historic South Wing briefing room, Barack Obama agreed that the aircraft more than likely was brought down by an act of violence, but certainly not an act of terror.
As the American Chief Executive stated, “Just like administration building at Fort Hood and the Government Center Facility in San Bernadino, Flight 804 is by definition, a workplace. Constantly on the move, but still a place of work.”
Furthermore, Obama touted his own street cred by stating, “As someone who spent many years as a community organizer, if there’s anyone who can immediately recognize a workplace is, it’s me. And I’m a Constitutional Law professor, so you know I’m telling the truth.”
When queried on the violent 360 degree turn the aircraft made in mid-air, Obama speculated, “From what I hear, and I hear a whole buncha things, there was a French co-pilot who was trying to impress the Egyptian flight attendants of undetermined gender. Maybe he was just burning doughnuts like I did growing up in Keny… I mean… Hawaii. But he did it at 37,000 feet instead of the McGwando’s parking lot in the south-side of Nairo… I mean… Honolulu.”
But unlike the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Obama was certainly brimming with confidence that the truth behind the destruction of Flight 804 would soon be solved. “Once the African-American box is found, all lingering questions will be answered once and for all without even a smidgen of doubt.”
In a written statement later issued to the press it was revealed that by way of Executive Action, Obama had regulated that with it common knowledge that all African-American boxes are actually orange, said information containers would henceforth be known as “Donald Boxes.”
Furthermore, the press release went on to state that to ensure the United States contributes its fair share, Obama has ordered the flagship of the Sixth Fleet, the USS Alger Hiss (YG-1369) to assist in the nautical search for clues. In keeping with the Obama Doctrine, The Fighting Hissy was placed under the direct command and control of the French Navy.
The Hiss will be joining the FS Je Vais Rendre and the FS Puis Collaborer when they hoist anchor from their main naval base at Mers-el-Kébir. Tentatively titled Operation Reddition Singe, the task force is still awaiting approval from the United Nations General Assembly. Unfortunately for the men, women, and others of the mini-armada, the UN isn’t scheduled to convene until sometime in mid-June.
