Even as a little kid back in the 1960s, I could never understand why my mom and big sis were fans of Hollywood musicals. The whole premise just seemed so ridiculous to me.
After all, who in the world breaks into song while driving across the Alps to escape from the Nazis or trying to score with a South Seas beauty?
Give me a flick like Battle of Britain or The Sand of Iwo Jima any day.
But I gotta tell you… Israeli filmmaker, director and producer Vania Heymann created an “interactive” music video of Bob Dylan’s classic Like a Rolling Stone that needs to be seen to be believed.
Found at this link, just take a peek to the up-or-down channel selector at the left-hand section of the screen.
The actual embedded video (below) is just a teaser.
After you click on the above link, from there you can choose from well over a dozen of different pretend TV stations. Everything from a faux-MTV to a faux-BBC to a faux-ESPN to a faux-DIY Network to a faux-History Channel to a faux-Gameshow Network.
All the while, everyone… and I mean everyone is singing Like a Rolling Stone.
From the stabbing victim in London’s Chelsea district to the uber-cute East Asian weather gal to Rapper Danny Brown playing multiple characters… this interactive video is fun, bizarre, fascinating and utterly charming all at the same time.
All timed perfectly, you’ll find yourself “changing channels” every 10 seconds or so. Believe me, no two viewings of this is ever the same.
Personally, my favorite is a toss-up between Drew Cary, the cast, the participants and the entire audience of The Price is Right; and the brewing cat-fight that you know is about to erupt on The Batchelor.
I really do hope you enjoy interacting with this as much as I did.
