As George W. Bush told the world right after the Islamist terrorist attacks on 9/11, “Islam is a religion of peace.” Not to be outdone, Barack Obama went on a world-wide tour in 2009 to apologize to the Muslim World for supposed sins committed by the United States against them.
Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell the half-million Moroccans residing within the Kingdom of Belgium that they’re supposed be loyal to their new nation as well as not riot and burn their own towns and cities to the ground.
But I would like to point out that the below news article doesn’t cite Islam or Muslims even once.
However, I’d also like to point out the obvious. I kinda doubt of any of those riotous young lads are Christian, Jewish or even atheist. That’s just common sense and the blatantly obvious.
Yet this whole situation really is the fault of the Belgian people. Starting in the mid-to-late 1960s, they abandoned their Catholicism, abandoned having kids, abandoned loving their nation, abandoned essentially anything and anything that had even a whiff of traditional morals and values.
Hey, Belgium… You wanted to allow have after wave of uneducated and skill-less future welfare recipients, this is what you get.
Back to the matter at hand. As reported by Jamie Phillips of London’s DailyMail.com (emphasis mine);
Rioters have started fires and pelted cars with bricks in Brussels following Belgium’s shock 2-0 loss to Morocco at the World Cup.
Morocco’s victory was a major upset at the tournament and was enthusiastically celebrated by fans with Moroccan immigrant roots in many Belgian cities this evening.
Police had to seal off parts of the Belgian capital and the port city of Antwerp, while officers also deployed water cannons and fired tear gas to disperse crowds as violence broke out following the match.
Dozens of rioters set steps on fire and threw bricks at cars, before riot cops moved in when one person suffered facial injuries, according to a police spokesperson.
Dozens of fans also smashed shop windows, threw fireworks and torched vehicles.
Similar demonstrations took place in the port city of Antwerp tonight, where tram traffic had to be interrupted on police orders.
Even before the end of the match, ‘dozens of people, including some wearing hoodies, sought confrontation with the police, which compromised public safety’, Brussels police said in a statement.
Around a hundred police officers were mobilised while residents were warned to avoid certain areas of the city centre. Metro stations were closed and streets sealed off to limit the spread of the violence.
A surveillance helicopter flew over the city before calm was restored at around 7pm local time.
The explosion of noise and colour was immediate and prolonged.
The victory was celebrated by Moroccan immigrants in Belgium this afternoon, where more than 11.5 million people, including around 500,000 from Morocco, are of foreign origin.
CORRECTION: The Daily Mail got the 11.5 million number of foreign-born incorrect. The World Atlas correctly notes that the total population of Belgium is 11.5 million.
