I’ll be honest, I’m not a lawyer and I’m certainly not all that knowledgeable of the goings-on in the rarified air of DC’s inner beltway.
But something struck me today as just… well, weird.
I’m sure everyone has at least heard of classified documents discovered in a Washington, DC, private (non-secure) office of then-VP Joe Biden.
Please keep in mind that Biden ran in 2020 as someone who would be ever-so transparent. The docs in question were discovered on Nov. 2, 2022 (just days before the mid-terms), but the American people didn’t find out until Jan. 10, 2023.
I can’t help but question Biden’s pledge of transparency. But that’s a different topic for a different day.
Back to now. CNN is just now reporting that said classified info consists of “US intelligence memos and briefing materials that covered topics including Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom…”
But what REALLY strikes me as at least somewhat curious is the video report below from CBS News.
Specifically, CBS states that the documents were initially found by “Biden lawyers.” Why were lawyers “cleaning out office space”? That a fairly high-priced cleaning crew. But hey, maybe that’s the way things work in DC.
Supposedly, these Biden lawyers then contacted “White House lawyers.” On face value, that seems reasonable.
But isn’t the Biden lawyer cleaning crew now talking to White House lawyers just a case of Biden lawyers talking to even more Biden lawyers? Of course, it is. Does CBS think we’re that stupid that we wouldn’t catch that?
Then we’re told that “White House lawyers reached out to the National Archives…” As a layman, that sounds not only reasonable, but also perfectly legit.
Or is it? Just me, but I would guess that alarm bells are now going off all over DC. ONLY top people will be handling this dumpster fire.
Again, that’s just me. I may be completely and totally wrong.
But here’s what really piqued my interest; CBS states, “The Archives intern contacted the Department of Justice.”
Is there only one intern at the National Archives?
But to get closer to the heart of the matter, why is an intern the one contacting the DOJ of a possible felony offense? That makes absolutely no sense at all to me. Then again, very little coming out of DC makes sense to the rest of America.
Is this a case of an over-exuberant intern trying to do the right thing in hopes of a full-time job with the federal government? I can’t help but wonder if said intern is still calling the National Archives home?
By the way, CBS News made a point of noting that President Trump also had classified info at Mar-a-Lago. What CBS failed to note; President Trump could have de-classified any material his lil’ heart so desired. Then-VP Biden had no such authority. Period.
