I’ll be honest, I really haven’t gotten into the weeds of the latest Harvard HarrisX Poll. However, the good folks at Harvard HarrisX are pretty up-front right there on the second page (emphasis mine);
This survey was conducted online within the United States from September 12-14, 2023 among 2,103 registered voters by The Harris Poll and HarrisX.
“Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, marital status, household size, income, employment, education, political party, and political ideology where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents’ propensity to be online.”
In other words, they cheated. Well, cheated may be a bit of a harsh word.
Let’s just say that if one wants a realistic poll, don’t look for one that interviews just registered voters… look for one that instead asks likely voters for their particular polls.
Another weak point would be weighing one person’s opinion higher or lower than any other individual’s take on world affairs.
Example: A college educated black female atheist lesbian government employee might have her opinions weighed more than the opinion of a high school educated white male Christian heterosexual who owns his own business, or vice versa.
But at least I will give said poll credit for at least giving a very, VERY loose idea of how the American people feel of our current state of affairs.
Below is a very informative graphic (courtesy of DailyMail.com) illustrating how Biden would stack-up against most of the declared GOP candidates for president.
Personally, I find it odd that the only Republicans who would beat Biden in a head-to-head contest would only be Pres. Trump, Sen. Tim Scott, and Gov. Nikki Haley. But then again, in all the other possibilities, the “Don’t Know” bars are pretty high.
Along the same lines, the Washington Post just published quite the shocking admission in the regards of at least one Democrat honcho’s thoughts on Sleepy Joe.
Sharon Sweda, chairwoman of the Democratic Party in Lorain County, Ohio, stated;
“He is in a period of his life where passing and death is imminent. We are all on a ticking clock. But when you’re at his age or at Trump’s age, that clock is ticking a little faster, and that’s a concern for voters.”
To wit; I would to respond to her, “Lady, don’t concern yourself with Trump. He at least knows where he is and who he’s speaking to.”
