‘Democrats Hate the Working Class’: Ultra-Leftist Newsweek SLAMS Biden, Jackass Party

Illegals, yes. Union workers, not so much.

Imagine my surprise when I read the Newsweek headline of “Democrats Hate the Working Class. Biden’s Work Permits for Venezuelans Is the Latest Proof

Needless to say, I had to do a double-take.

In the past few decades, Newsweek has plummeted in both subscriptions and credibility. The only place most people actually see this magazine would be in the waiting rooms of the family’s physician. Sadly for Newsweek, their weekly is about as thick as waiting room pamphlets.

But back to the topic at hand.

Newsweek op/ed writer Kevin Lynn is coming down hard on Biden and the Democrat Party for both pushing through half-a-million Venezuelan nationals getting a sweetheart deal in regards to attaining legitimate work permits right here in the good ol’ US of A.

But here’s the problem… these 500,000 are by-and-large low-education and low-skill workers. To top it off, there’s a better than average chance that these folks will also be low-paid. This is a perfect formula to lower the average wage as well as the standard of living for citizens and legal aliens.

Let’s be honest. Not a lot of brain surgeons or astro-physicists are swimming the Rio Grande.

As written by Lynn (emphasis mine);

“In late August, the CEOs of many New York City based companies including Pfizer, BlackRock, and Citigroup signed an open letter to President Biden urging him to expedite work permits for those who have entered the country illegally as a way of dealing with the crisis at the southern border. “We write to support the request made by New York Governor Hochul for federal funding for educational, housing, security, and health care services to offset the costs that local and state governments are incurring with limited federal aid,” wrote the CEOs. “There is a compelling need for expedited processing of asylum applications and work permits for those who meet federal eligibility standards.”

Gee, multi-national corporations want cheap and easily disposable workers? Hooda thunkit?

But anyhow, here’s the main reason (as I see it) for Lynn and Newsweek are body slamming Biden and Friends; the overwhelming of these 500,000 will be non-union workers.

Even though Lynn doesn’t even mention unions, his specific dings against Biden and the Jackass Party are the same complaints I previously noted of, as well as conservatives have complained of for decades.

None of the gripes Lynn has just raised are anything new. I honestly believe that what really pushed him over the edge would be the political Left sending a none-too-subtle message that they’re coming-in-hot when it comes to abandoning labor unions.

After all, aren’t the Democrats supposed to be ‘The party of labor unions”? Guess not.

With union membership being somewhere in the neighborhood of just eight percent of the workforce, it’s not exactly a shocker that the Dems have abandoned them.
