Does anyone else remember when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi took it upon herself to dump Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) from the farcical Jan. 6 investigative committee?
Hoo-boy, didn’t we as Republicans howl in protest? Especially in light that the choosing of the four Republicans to this particular committee was at the discretion of the then-House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. Period, end of story.
But as usual, there was absolutely no push-back from McCarthy in any way, shape or form.
I may have to lighten up on the Democrats. After all, what the House GOP is supposedly plotting against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) will make Nancy Pelosi look like Mother Teresa.
The New republic (via Yahoo News), Fox News, The Daily Beast (via Yahoo News), and the Huffington Post are all reporting that an unknown number (and so far, unnamed) group of Republicans are scheming to expel Gaetz from the Republican Caucus.
OK, so now you ask, “Throw him from the party based on what?”
Glad you asked. As it turns out, since 2021 there has been a House Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz, accused of having sex with an underage girl (17-yrs-old) and various other “misconduct” allegations.
But what the media and the pro-McCarthy camp ISN’T telling you… as reported both by Newsweek and the BBC on Feb 2, 2023, the Department of Justice had dropped ALL charges against Gaetz.
Funny how they leave that out, huh?
