“Seeming to create a collision with Menzies that facilitated the arrest.”
Cuba’s favorite (bastard) son is at it again. Comrade Justin Trudeau has proved more than once that he and his government strive to fill Daddy Fidel’s boots at every turn.
Strong-arming a credentialed reporter is now the plan of the day.
As seen in the video below, Rebel News cites, “reporter David Menzies was brutally arrested by police after he tried to ask Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland questions about the Liberal government’s failure to add the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to the country’s list of terrorist organizations.”
On the CTVnews.ca website,
“Rebel News is threatening to sue the RCMP [Royal Canadian Mounted Police], York Regional Police (YRP) and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland as soon as this week after one of its journalists was arrested on Monday.
The video posted by Rebel News shows Menzies approaching Freeland and asking her a few questions as she heads inside a venue in Richmond Hill, Ont., for an event honouring the victims of Flight PS752.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down the plane over Tehran on Jan. 8, 2020, killing 176 people including 55 Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents.”
With the RCMP being Canada’s version of the FBI and the Secret Service rolled into one, I can certainly understand why Rebel News is ready to take them to court.
Just me, but I broke down the video frame by frame. It’s fairly obvious that the Mountie threw his shoulder into Menzies.
In regards to the yet to be publicly identified Mountie, the Windsor Star notes he’s now under investigation (emphasis mine);
“A member of the RCMP security detail who grabbed and arrested a Rebel News commentator while questioning Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland Monday is under review by the federal force after video of the incident sparked outrage for a seemingly dubious arrest.
“The arrest of the Rebel News reporter was made by the Prime Minister’s RCMP security detail. York Regional Police officers assisted as the interaction took place in our region,” said Constable Lisa Moskaluk, a media relations officer with York police.
“It was determined that no credible security threat existed and the subject was released unconditionally shortly thereafter.”
Menzies’ release without charge hasn’t muted expressions of outrage over the incident, recorded by a Rebel News videographer in a video which shows a man in a suit, tie and dark coat seeming to create a collision with Menzies that facilitated the arrest.”
