As we used to say in the Marine Corps, “Plan for the worst; hope for the best; accept whatever happens in between.”
Unfortunately, when you’re on the defense, we have to plan with the assumption that the enemy is well trained, motivated, and already in our own backyards.
With that said, word is now public that the Islamic Republic of Iran already has a hit-team plotting, and presumably moving towards killing Donald Trump.
Far from being some sort of Right-Wing conspiracy theory, this is breaking news from the likes of Forbes.com, the Associated Press, and the New York Post.
Certain words and phrases jump out at me. Phrases like “Evolving threat”, and words like “Revenge”.
I just can’t help but wonder two things;
- Which side of the Atlantic are these would-be assassins on?
- More specifically, on what side of the border are these Sicarios?
But speaking of the NY Post, here’s some of the report filed by David Propper and Chris Nesi;
US officials received intel about a sinister Iranian plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump just weeks before a deranged gunman shot at the GOP nominee at a Pennsylvania rally over the weekend.
The threat prompted the Secret Service to boost its protection around the 78-year-old, two US officials said — though the additional resources didn’t prevent Saturday’s shooting, which does not appear connected to the rogue nation’s plans.
“As we have said many times, we have been tracking Iranian threats against former Trump administration officials for years, dating back to the last administration,” said National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson.
“These threats arise from Iran’s desire to seek revenge for the killing of Qassem Soleimani. We consider this a national and homeland security matter of the highest priority.”
When Trump was president, he ordered the killing of Soleimani, the leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, in 2020.
Federal law enforcement have also warned of potential copycat attacks or election-related retaliation after the attempt on Trump’s life.
Furthermore, Forbes.com is also reporting;
An unnamed source told CNN the Secret Service was informed of the plot by the White House National Security Council, and proceeded to let the Trump campaign know of the “evolving threat” ahead of Saturday’s shooting.
In a statement to Forbes the Secret Service said it is “constantly” receiving new information about threats and security risks, and that it “takes threats seriously and responds accordingly” though the agency declined to discuss specifics.
