Set phasers on ‘Humiliate’…
Multiple choice – The above photo of Australia’s Rachael “RayGun” Gunn was captured on film the moment she was:
A.) Having a seizure.
B.) Forgetting her costume, but still going forward with pretending to be a kangaroo at Sydney’s Furry Pride March.
C.) Proving that white folks have no rhythm whatsoever.
D.) Embarrassed every Aussie who has, is, or will ever exist.
Every answer could be true, depending upon one’s perspective. But I would hazard a guess and claim that pretty much everyone is happy that breakdancing has been formally axed from the Los Angelese 2028 Olympic Games, as reported by San Diego’s KGTV 10News.com.
Interestingly enough, it was at the Paris 2024 Olympics that breakdancing both debuted, then died.
Even more interesting, KGTV reporter Taylor O’Bier specifically noted of young Miss Gunn;
The dance competition was well received at the Paris games, with some breakout moments that included a viral and unique routine from Australia’s Rachael Gunn, a.k.a. Raygun.
Going out on a limb, I’m going to guess that O’Bier was going out of her way to be extra-nice to Gunn.
For whatever whacky reason, O’Bier failed to note of the following, as reported by Hannah Moore of Sky News Australia;
Australian B-girl Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn took the world by storm with her performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with video of her writhing like a snake and hopping like a kangaroo going instantly viral.
Though the judges weren’t as enthused, awarding the cultural studies academic straight zeros for her efforts.
Even though I haven’t watched the Olympics literally for decades, I do recall for any judged event;
- If a chick drowned during a synchronized swimming event, she’d at least manage an average score of 5.
- Same with a dude accidentally reenacting the Nutcracker Suite on the pommel horse… he’d be stretchered off the mat with at least a score of 5.
Raygun unbelievably managed zeroes across the board. She had to work for that distinction.
