Just seven full days into his administration…four targets total.
Just a small handful of days ago, Shannon Depararro Atkins was popped down Florida way for threatening the life of Pres. Trump, as reported by the New York Post.
Before the echoes have even faded, now there’s news of a Massachusetts man who’s been arrested by US Capitol Police for having unlawful weapons on Capitol grounds.
Interestingly enough, even though Ryan Michael “Reily” English admitted that he was planning on killing the recently confirmed Sec. of the Treasury Scott Bessent, it’s reported that English has only been charged with “unlawful receipt, possession or transfer of a firearm, and carrying a firearm, explosive or incendiary device on Capitol grounds” according to CNBC.com.
What?? No charges of plotting to kill federal officials? How did this happen?
As it turns out, Sec. Bessent wasn’t English’s first target. The same CNBC report also cited that English was, “… initially planning to kill Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and/or House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., a police affidavit said.”
It doesn’t end there. Also cited by CNBC (emphasis mine);
English contemplated throwing the Molotov cocktails at Bessent’s feet, according to the affidavit, which was filed in Washington, D.C., federal court. English also told police that if he were able to get close enough, he would have stabbed Bessent with a knife, the affidavit said.
He said he was at the Capitol to “kill Scott Bessent,” the affidavit said.
On a personal note, how much you want to bet this’ll be a dead subject before next week even begins?
