More governmental waste, fraud and abuse.
As someone who’s spoken out against the NATO anchor chained around our nation’s neck for more than a few decades, I’m still of the opinion that our president should tell the Euro-trash and their Canadian ass-kissing cousins to all go screw themselves.
But I should be satisfied on the latest from President Trump to our alleged “allies” in Europe.
Essentially, the Commander-in-Chief told NATO that the Russo-Ukrainian War is THEIR dumpster fire to deal with, not ours.
With all that said, I’m sure we all remember during Trump’s first term, when the member states all flipped their shit when Trump demanded the same kick-in at least two percent of their GDP to their own defense (as previously agreed upon at the 2014 Wales Summit). Most did, but only after kicking and screaming.
Remember, during Trump 45, there was no war in Eastern Europe. That shit-show belongs to Joe Biden.

But back to the topic at hand, Trump is now telling Europe to increase their expenditure to five percent. No one, and I mean no one, wants to raise their amount of money to NATO (with the possible exceptions of Poland and the Baltic States).
From the all things military-industrial complex news site DefenseOne.com (emphasis mine);
Trump: NATO members should spend 5% of GDP on defense. “I’m also going to ask all NATO nations to increase defense spending to 5 percent of GDP, which is what it should have been years ago,” the president said in a virtual address to the Davos Forum on Thursday.
Background: NATO established the 2%-of-GDP guideline at the 2014 Wales Summit, not long after Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine, and members began upping their contributions at then-President Obama’s urging in 2016. Two years later, Trump moved beyond cajoling with threats to withdraw from the alliance.
But the good folks over at Defense One aren’t telling us the whole story.
Below is a chart from an official NATO website citing just how much they’re paying as of 2014 and estimated as of 2024.
Five percent? As Wayne Campbell once famously stated, “Shuh… and monkeys might fly out of my butt.”
