(VIDEO) Still Think Trump’s Greenland Bid is Laugh Worthy?

Thanks to Biden, the US military has 77 genders. The Russian Yasen-class submarines have 32 hypersonic nuclear cruise missiles… each.

An awful lot of folks on the Left are again yucking it up over Trump resurrecting his wish for the United States to annex the Danish county of Greenland.

In light that there is historical evidence that the United States has had its eyes on Greenland since 1867, well… there’s that (Psst, 1910 and 1946, too).

Should we just ignore the trillions worth of precious metals, gemstones and rare earth metals on this island? I’m fairly sure the Democrats do.

Now let’s shift gears.

I fully understand that the drama The Diplomat is just historical fiction. The fact that this is a Netflix production certainly doesn’t give the series any additional gravitas.

Especially after their latest Tyler Perry/Netflix debacle, “Madea Sorts the Mail” or whatever the hell it was called.

No one walks at parade rest, with the obvious exception of Kevin Rowland of Dexy’s Midnight Runners fame.

But back to the topic at hand. Granted, there is no such naval base “Creegan” in Scotland as cited in the video clip below.

However, there is HMNB (His Majesty’s Naval Base) Clyde in Faslane, Scotland, that is the only Royal Navy base for all their nuclear subs and missiles.

Just FYI, there was the US Navy’s Fleet Ballistic Missile Refit Site One in Holy Loch, Scotland, but that base was shuttered decades ago. There is no current British port open to American nuke boats.

But as also cited in the video below, is there really a massive Russian military build-up in the Arctic? Beats me… but the US military sure does think so.

As noted in the US Naval Institute News recently published an article with the rather discerning title;

Russia’s Arctic Rise
U.S., Allies Wrestle with an Unpredictable Kremlin as the Arctic Grows More Complex

Deeper into the article, the USNI also quoted Icelandic Minister of Foreign Affairs Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir (emphasis mine);

“Tracking submarines in the Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom Gap — a maritime chokehold due to the harsh northern waters between the countries — peaked during the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States. It picked up again in 2014, following Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the Icelandic minister of foreign affairs said. Those Arctic assets are increasingly active as the war in Ukraine continues.”

Hmm… after watching this video, maybe’s this Netflix historical fiction is a damn sight more leans towards reality than to fiction.
