By a vote of 68-29, Senate Democrats joined forces with RINOs to push through a massive $1.7 trillion fiscal year 2023 budget.
Everything from $45 billion worth of literal military give-away for Ukraine, to $3.6 million for the Michelle Obama Hiking Trail in Georgia.
In regard to the billions to Ukraine, TheHill.com is citing exactly how much military equipment is being taken out of the hands of our own troops;
Broken down, the funds include about $11.9 billion to replenish U.S. weapons stocks that have been dipped into often since Feb. 24, when Russia first attacked Ukraine and Washington poured in its own lethal equipment to bolster the besieged country.
Furthermore, The Hill also notes of the remaining $33.1 billion;
- $9 billion to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, to train, equip and provide intelligence support to Ukraine’s military.
- $6.98 billion will go toward U.S. European Command mission and intelligence support, pay, equipment and related activities.
- $300 million meant “for advanced nuclear reactors and advanced nuclear fuels” to increase Ukrainian energy security and independence.
- $126.3 million to “prepare for and respond to potential nuclear and radiological incidents in Ukraine.”
- $2.47 billion for humanitarian needs.
- $13.37 billion would go to economic support for Kyiv.
- $2.4 billion to resettle Ukrainian arrivals and refugees into the United States.
In actuality, all the add-ons total out at $34.65 billion. Of course, there’s a discrepancy of $1.55 billion.
Will we ever have a firm handle on the truckloads of cash we are and have sent to the Zelenskyy government?
The short answer: No. Democrats have blocked any congressional oversight of the billions upon billions sent to Kiev.
Leading the RINO charge in the US Senate, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is attempting to sell his “Yea” vote as some sort of victory. As reported by the The Daily Signal;
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., defended the spending bill.
“Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans,” McConnell said. “That’s how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment.”
On a personal note, allow me to say that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a European problem. Let the Europeans pay for it.
Allow me to also state that did anyone else notice Zelenskyy’s wife was nowhere in sight? That’s because she’s on a Paris shopping trip. But this guy can’t afford to buy a tie?
As of publication, the votes from today’s haven’t been made public, but the official Senate website will supposedly make who voted for what public sometime today.
