The last American president who didn’t initiate some type of armed intervention overseas was Herbert Hoover. That was nearly 100 years ago.
But on the bright side, there is a singular exception. That would be Donald Trump.
Anyhow, Slow Joe now has his own little war that he can kiss it and love it and squeeze it and hug it and call it George.
With the Daffy Duck reference aside, the federal government’s own Looney Tune character is off on his own foreign adventures.
With the American media paying attention to this for about 15 minutes, it turns out that the United States is leading a multi-nation military effort to take on the Houthi rebels in Yemen. As pretty much everyone is already aware, the Houthis have been slinging missiles and weaponized drones at Western and Western-leaning naval vessels.
Interestingly enough, the Reuters news service recently published that “Combined Task Force 153, is a 39-country coalition commanded by the vice-admiral of the U.S. Fifth Fleet…”
Coming as a shock to no one, the only nation Reuters cited as being a member of the alleged 39-country coalition was the United States.
Unfortunately, I had to resort to Aljazeera.com to get something close to a comprehensive list of participating nations;
- Bahrain
- Canada
- France
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Seychelles
- Spain
- United Kingdom
- United States
Furthermore, Aljazeera also cites that the following nations could be signing-on at any time;
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Saudi Arabia
Again, coming as a shock to no one, Combined Task Force 153 has their own website. But strangely enough, the same isn’t from an official US military domain, but from WordPress.
Curiously, the masthead for this site notes that Combined Maritime Forces is “A 39-nation naval partnership”.
But deeper into the site, they specifically note that CTF 153 is “More than 20 countries have confirmed their participation in the operation.” Really? Just “More than 20”?
Additionally, only two warships (the US Navy’s USS Mason (DDG 87) and USS Laboon (DDG-58), both are guided-missile destroyers) have been identified as being assigned to CTF 153.
The closest thing I could find under a navy.mil domain official website for CTF 153 was an outdated US Navy Public Affairs Office press release from Apr. 17, 2022.
Soooo… we know that a US Navy vice-admiral (three stars) and two destroyers are pretty much all we know about Biden’s war on the Houthis.
I can only come to two possible conclusions;
- Team Biden doesn’t want us to know what’s going on
- Team Biden doesn’t know what’s going on
