Gutless Commandant of the Marine Corps; $2 Million University Recommends Dropping ‘Sir’ and ‘Ma’am’

It’s bad enough that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Millie, is the butt of every woke joke ever, the alleged “leadership” of the United States Marine Corps isn’t far behind.

Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. David H. Berger is fully onboard with Millie’s vision of a more leftist-minded and testosterone-free fighting force.

What really pisses me off is that the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, hasn’t resigned in protest.

Still allowable.

It was under Berger’s orders as the CMC that anything and everything with even a whiff of the Confederacy was basically outlawed across the board at every Marine Corps installation around the globe.

Of course, as the reliable sock puppet that he is, Black defended the blatantly hypocritical orders of the useless politician currently occupying Henderson Hall (AKA: “Headquarters, Marine Corps“, “Puzzle Palace“, “Center of Confusion“).

One thing that Berger (purposefully?) ignored would be the black nationalist symbols that are quite prevalent throughout the Marine Corps.

With that aside, in spite of the military sounding name, the Marine Corps Times is a civilian-owned publication. In a recent article by the MCT as well as the Daily Caller, both have noted that after commissioning a $2 million study from the University of Pittsburgh, the Corps is not only considering doing away with “Sir” and “Ma’am”, the Marines are also seeking civilian assistance in their “efforts to integrate boot camp.”

As reported by the Daily Caller;

A new academic report from the University of Pittsburgh suggested that the Marine Corps drop all gendered identifiers for training personnel.

The academics advised the Marine Corps that recruits should no longer refer to drill instructors as “sir” or “ma’am,” according to the Marine Corps Times. The Army, Navy and Coast Guard have already de-emphasized the use of gendered terms, instead having recruits refer to training staff by their last names or as “drill instructor.”

The University of Pittsburgh’s Neuromuscular Research Lab, Warrior Human Performance Research Center and Department of Sports Medicine and Nutrition received $2 million to study gender-integrated recruit training in military settings in 2020. The 738-page report was published in June 2022.

As for the Marine Corps Times, they cite;

The proposal was under consideration by a Marine Corps leadership team assembled to guide service efforts to integrate boot camp, Col. Howard Hall, chief of staff for Marine Corps Training and Education Command, told the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services in December.

The study’s authors suggest that dispensing with “sir” and “ma’am” in favor of the neutral “drill instructor” would help to counteract that behavior.

Gender-neutral identifiers are an unambiguous, impartial way to circumvent these issues,” the authors write. “Employing gender-neutral identifiers eliminates the possibility of misgendering drill instructors, which can unintentionally offend or cause discord. By teaching recruits to use gender-neutral identifiers for their drill instructors, Services underscore the importance of respecting authoritative figures regardless of gender.”

As the old Marine Corps saying goes;

“Let’s be damned sure that no man’s ghost will ever say – “If your training program had only done its job.”

Maybe it’s just me, but in the next war when the bodies of Marines are stacking up, the hierarchy can console themselves with;

“At least they didn’t misgender the same enemy that just kicked the shit out of them.”
