Millions upon millions of German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Greek, Korean, etc., -speakers already knew they would have to at least have a basic working knowledge of the English language before they emigrated to the United States… and they couldn’t wait.
So great was the love of America amongst the newly arrived, it was common for them not to teach their children the Mother Tongue of whatever nation. After all, it was common to hear parents proudly proclaim, “This is America, we speak English!”
Sadly, back in the 1960s, the spirit of multi-culturalism reared its ugly and usually indecipherable head.
Oh, yeah. Nothing says unity like the Balkanization of America.
Thankfully, with Trump 47, we get a seasoned, FULLY understanding what ‘The Swamp’ is all about, President Trump.
With that same Trump 2.0, we not only get a ton of common-sense decisions, we also are getting common-sense decisions that we’ve been screaming about for decades.
Not only has Pres. Trump declared that English is the official language of the nation, he’s also yanking all taxpayer dollars to the DHS to provide “translation services” to those seeking calling for info of their “immigration or employment status or their benefits.”
As reported by Warner Todd Huston of Breitbart.com (emphasis mine);
The Trump administration has directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to end language translation services for people calling for information about their immigration or employment status or their benefits.
In keeping with his March 1 order making English the official language of the United States, the president has directed the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to cancel a contract with a translation service provider, according to Government Executive magazine.
The translation service was offered to migrants calling the department for information about their status under E-Verify and other government programs.
