(VIDEO) But McCarthy was Right; Democrat Senator Accuses Trump of ‘Return to McCarthyism’

OF COURSE he’s from Massachusetts…

The only thing worse than being the junior US senator from Massachusetts (Ed Markey) would be that you’re the senior senator from the Gay Bay State (Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren).

While both Democrats historically have quite the problem telling the truth and presenting things objectively, the latest departure from honesty belongs to Markey.

As seen in the video below, in an interview on CNN (naturally), Markey was asked of Trump threatening to withhold nearly $9 billion of taxpayer money from Harvard University for coddling Islamic jihadists.

In a rambling response, Markey eventually attempted to resurrect the memory of Sen. Joseph “Tail Gunner Joe” McCarthy (R-Wisc), who was by the way, a WWII Marine and the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Presidential Unit Citation, and five Air Medals.

Capt. Joseph R. McCarthy, USMC.

But back to Markey. The Massachusetts legislator stated that under Pres. Trump, “It is going to be a return to McCarthyism in the 1930s.”

Unfortunately for Markey, this is how Joe McCarthy spent the 1930s;

  • 1930-1935: Enrolled at Marquette University
  • 1935-1939: Worked as a lawyer in his home state of Wisconsin
  • 1939: Elected as a circuit court judge

During the course of his CNN interview, Markey attempted to paint New York lawyer Roy Cohen as some type of heavy influencer in the life of Pres. Trump, “All we’re seeing right now is just Roy Cohn once again insinuating himself into the brain of a very powerful person in our country now, Donald Trump…”

Just so you know, Roy Cohn died nearly 40-years ago.

It was once in the mid-1970s that Cohen represented Trump in his counter-lawsuit against the federal government for $100 million. Just FYI, Trump claimed victory when the government settled out of court with him for an undisclosed amount of money.

As far as Sen. McCarthy’s name being slandered for decades after his death in 1957, it turns out that his claims that the US federal government was heavily peppered with pro-Soviet Union Communists were proven to be true.

As noted by the historical journal, The Objective Standard notes (with plenty of referenced source documentation) the administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt got the ball rolling with more than a few Communists, namely;

  • Dir. of State Dept’s Office of Special Political Affairs Alger Hiss
  • Lead scientist in the Manhattan Project J. Robert Oppenheimer
  • Rep. to the International Monetary Fund Harry Dexter White
  • Presidential Assistant (FDR) Lauchlin Currie
  • US Army Signal Corps engineer Julius Rosenberg and wife Ethel
  • Treasury Dept. senior official Nathan Silvermaster
  • Senior economist of the War Production Board Victor Perlo
  • Treasury Dept. senior economist Harold Glasser
  • Manhattan Project lead scientist Klaus Fuchs
  • Dir. Division of Monetary Research (Treasury Dept.) Frank Coe
  • Manhattan Project physicist Theodore Hall
  • U.S. Army Air Force analyst George Silverman
  • Office of Strategic Services (forerunner of the CIA) Lt. Col. Duncan Lee
  • Treasury Dept. representative to China, Solomon Adler
