Yet Another Francis-ite; The Controversial Election of Pope Leo XIV

Eadem merda, Papa diversus…

By now, pretty much the who world knows that Robert Cardinal Prevost of the Diocese of Chiclayo, Peru, has been elected as Pope Leo XIV.

Like all Catholics, I’ll pray for His Holiness. With that said, if you think the Marxist-adjacent pendulum of Francis is done swinging left… guess again.

Even with my admittedly exceedingly poor understanding of Latin, I could tell that Leo either used the word ‘justice’ or alluded to the concept of justice at least three times. Not once did he say anything in regard to the salvation of souls.

Elevated to the rank of Cardinal just two years ago by Pope Francis, no one seemed to know who Robert Cardinal Prevost is. Hailing from the mid-sized Peruvian city of Chiclayo (population; 500,000), being from the middle-of-nowhere didn’t help anyone recognize his name.

But I did notice that he’s from the land of ‘Liberation Theology.’ I guess a conservative from Ghana or Guinea is asking too much.

Scipio Aemilianus. The original salty Latin.

Another interesting thing I noticed was on the Cardinal Prevost official X/Twitter website. One individual who shall remain nameless, made a comment to the effect of; “He’s going to save the world from MAGA!”

How very interesting… “Save the world from MAGA.” Pope Leo can’t even get his own nation’s Catholics to go to Mass.

PewResearch.org has published;

  • Historical data suggest that for most of the 20th century, from 1900 through the 1960s, at least 90% of Latin America’s population was Catholic.

More specifically, Statistica.com notes;

  • Percentage of Peruvian Catholics in 1995 was 89.7
  • Percentage of Peruvian Catholics in 2005 was 77.9
  • Percentage of Peruvian Catholics in 2015 was 71.8
  • Percentage of Peruvian Catholics in 2020 was 69.4

As cited by the Australian government’s Cultural Atlas;

  • Percentage of Peruvian Catholics in 2023 was 66.4

In a 30-year period, nearly one out of four Peruvian Catholics has left the Church.

So, what did the College of Cardinals really do today? They just elected Gen. Scipio Aemilianus to be the Minister of Agriculture for Carthage… complete with a really big bag of salt.
