Ex-Deputy Mayor of LA Pleads Guilty in Fake Anti-Israel Bomb Threat

Dep. Mayor Brian Williams with LA mayor Karen Bass.

This is going to come as a shocker, but back in early 2023, the mayor of Los Angeles, Marxist-turned-Democrat Karen Bass hand-picked one certain Brian K. Williams (a life-time government employee) to serve as her Deputy Mayor of Public Safety.

Williams was charged to oversee;

  • Los Angeles Police Department
  • Los Angeles Fire Department
  • Port of Los Angeles Police
  • Los Angeles World Airport Police
  • Emergency Management Department

But wait, there’s more.

As cited in the above link from Mayor Bass’ official LA website, at the time Willliams was “Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission“.

Prior to that, his resume included;

  • President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southern California, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations that educates children in the areas of financial literacy and lifeskills.
  • Deputy Mayor under Mayor James Hahn, where he was responsible for the management and oversight of major city departments including LADOT, Public Works, and ITA.
  • Before that, Williams served in the Office of the City Attorney as a Special Assistant City Attorney.

    Allies of Bass and Williams?

But wait, there’s still more.

Williams is in a bit of legal trouble. Turns out that he’s taking a plea deal over a “felony count of making an explosives threat, which could carry a ten-year prison term.” Ouch… that’s gonna leave a mark.

Yeah, he faked a bomb threat on city hall. Then we found out that the same faked bomb threat was supposedly from some sort of Israeli operative.

As reported by Lowell Cauffiel of Breitbart.com;

A former Los Angeles deputy mayor — tasked with overseeing public safety — has agreed to plead guilty to faking an anti-Israel bomb threat on city hall last year.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced the forthcoming plea this week after Brian K. Williams, 61, was charged with a single felony count of making an explosives threat, which could carry a ten-year prison term.

Prosecutors say Williams sent a text message to Mayor Karen Bass and other high-ranking city officials on October 3, 2024, that he just received a call from someone who threatened to bomb City Hall, writing “it might be in the rotunda.” Williams said in his text message:

Bomb threat: I received phone call on my city cell at 10:48 am this morning. The male caller stated that “he was tired of the city support of Israel, and he has decided to place a bomb in City Hall. It might be in the rotunda.” I immediately contacted the chief of staff of LAPD, they are going to send a number of officers over to do a search of the building and to determine if anyone else received a threat.

The call actually was made by Williams himself through the Google Voice application on his personal phone, according to prosecutors.
