Someone Other than the US Taxpayer; Trump’s Winning Deal for Arming Ukraine

America’s manufacturing muscle…

When the Russo-Ukrainian War first broke out, my initial sympathies were with the Ukrainians. To me, it was pretty basic — a supposed democratic republic was just invaded by Vladimir Putin’s Russia. This must obviously be a case against a freedom loving people fighting off the neo-Stalinist Mongolin hordes.

Let’s not forget that it was the same KGB Lt. Col. Vladdie Putin who referred to the fall of the Soviet Union as one of the greatest disasters of the 20th Century.

But back to the topic at hand; my support for the Kiev government started to wane when I found out that the Biden Administration was literally giving the Zelensky government hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in weapons and military equipment. To add insult to injury, there was zero accountability to where all this money was going.

Then I found out that the good ol’ US of A was far outspending our alleged NATO allies in tackling what I considered essentially “a European problem.”

Stunningly, I then found out that the average age of the average Ukrainian solder was 45. Even more stunning, then I found out that the youngest draft age in Ukraine was 27. But Zelensky’s government was releasing career criminals if they volunteered to fight the Russians (and, yes… the paroled criminals were more of an obstacle than a help).

Oh, but Ukraine did lower the draft age to 25. Nonetheless, still pretty lackluster.

Much like the Biden raping of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, what really soured me on Ukraine was the emptying of our nation’s military stockpiles, then not replacing the deficit. All at the expense of the American taxpayer.

Ukraine hands out 18,000 rifles to civilians.

In light that V. Putin is jerking our President around, Trump’s had enough. He’s now going to supply the Ukrainians with military equipment ranging from Patriot missile batteries to bootlaces.

But here’s the best part – Europe is picking up the tab.

As noted by reporter Laura Kelly of TheHill.com (emphasis mine);

President Trump said Monday he had brokered a deal to send more weapons to Ukraine without burdening the U.S., while threatening Russian President Vladimir Putin with new sanctions if there is no deal to end the war in 50 days.

Trump’s announcement marks a potential turning point for a president who had wanted to pull U.S. support from Ukraine and has repeatedly demonstrated favorable treatment to Putin despite Moscow’s invasion of its neighbor.

Under the deal, weapons would be sourced from NATO allies in Europe that just agreed to step up their defense spending at a summit Trump hailed as a success.

Trump announced last week that he had struck a deal for NATO to purchase weapons from the U.S. to send to Ukraine.

He said Monday that these systems would include Patriot missile defense batteries critical for Ukraine to guard its skies under increasing Russian bombardment.

“They’re paying for everything. We’re not paying anymore,” Trump said.

Apparently, it’s true. The only thing Putin really understands is brute force.

Not only will this result in thousands of good-paying American jobs, but this will also give our military the chance to replenish the war stocks in case of the worst.
