Thankfully, I’m no longer at the point in my life where I must work. Retirement (and being old) has its privileges.
But the question has been asked, ‘How would I deal with a co-worker who openly and very publicly celebrates the murder of Charlie Kirk?’
First of all, I WOULD NOT engage them. I’d keep my mouth shut. Just me, but I think I would then immediately go to the shop owner, HR rep, foreman, manager, shop steward, section lead… whatever.
I think I’d probably say something like “I don’t feel safe around such an easily angered person. Especially someone who would celebrate someone’s murder.”
Don’t fall back on, “Well, he (or she) is actually a good person. I shouldn’t say anything.”
What makes you think that person actually gives two shits about you? If they really did, they wouldn’t let their violent personalities rise so quick to the surface, now would they?
But that’s just me.
