Dirty cops aren’t something new. Law enforcement on the take crosses race, region and religion.

But maybe this particular instance comes as a shock because so many cops are now under arrest, and how many people in their own area could have possibly died because of what these same cops have been accused of.

As reported of Jim Hoft of The Gateway Pundit, so far 20 individuals, consisting of 14 current or former law enforcement officers and six co-conspirators, all from the Mississippi Delta region to the Tennessee border have been taken into custody for “allegedly conspiring with Mexican drug cartels to smuggle narcotics into the United States.”

It was U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner for the Northern District of Mississippi who initially broke the news. As quoted;

“The indictments generally allege the taking of bribes to attempt to aid and abet drug trafficking, as well as associated crimes.”
Getting to the heart of the matter, it was also noted by reporter Hoft;
The serious allegations and charges included:
  • Accepting bribes: The officers allegedly accepted bribes ranging from $20,000 to $37,000 in exchange for police protection.
  • Aiding drug trafficking: The defendants provided armed escort services for what they believed were large quantities of illegal drugs for people they believed were drug traffickers (who were actually undercover FBI agents).
  • Conspiracy: The scheme involved a network of corruption that extended across multiple counties in Mississippi and into Tennessee.
